Tribal peoples are those whose social, cultural and economic conditions distinguish them from other members of the national community. International displaced persons are individuals who have been displaced from their homelands due to war, famine or other crises. They no longer have a home but instead are forced to be nomadic. Many countries struggle to support them or simply don’t have the resources to address their needs. Tribal communities and IDPs are often marginalized, isolated and discriminated against (sometimes systematically) because of their differences. They are frequently left vulnerable without access to systems and services that help meet their most basic needs. That’s where All Tribes Initiatives comes in.
At All Tribes Initiatives, we conduct humanitarian outreaches to tribal communities and focus on meeting significant basic needs. Our efforts include:
Adequate medical care is often too expensive or out of geographical reach for members of remote tribal communities and IDPs. In such cases, people have no choice but to do without it. They can suffer for years from ailments that may be easily treatable if only they had access to medical care. For others, chronic illnesses can progress, leading to more severe disease and even death.
What ATI is Doing to Help >>
Water is essential to life. Yet, contaminated water is the source of much disease and illness. In many cases, it is the only water available to communities of people, such as IDPs or minority tribes, whose needs fall secondary to the general population in places where there aren’t enough resources to go around. These people are forced to collect their drinking water from bug-infested waters that also attract thirsty wildlife. Villagers dip their jugs into the same brown water that animals drink from, stand in and worse. To live a healthy life, people need clean water.
How ATI Provides Clean Water >>
The world is unpredictable, and disaster or turmoil can beset a community at any time. Such events can occur in any region of the world, limiting resources and emergency services and leaving people vulnerable to tremendous need. In a rural tribal community, the effects can be even more devastating.
What ATI Does to Help >>
When people groups misunderstand one another, it can lead to disharmony, even prejudice or mistreatment. Education and advocacy play essential roles in lifting community members above these troubles.
