Without clean water, illnesses brought on by contaminated water become chronic, with no chance for relief. Often, they become acute and turn fatal. However, when clean water enters a community, chronic illnesses can depart. People feel better and live healthier, stronger lives.
ATI provides IDP and tribal communities with clean water by distributing individual, family and community water filtration devices. These devices are simple, portable, and inexpensive filters that remove 99.9 percent of bacteria, parasites and pollutants from water. That means they eliminate almost all disease-causing contaminants, effectively turning “bitter,” undrinkable water into pure, safe, healthy water. Through ATI’s efforts to address this vital need of IDPs, we make it easier for governments to channel limited resources to address other vulnerabilities.
